What an excellent review, George. I too felt that way about David S's performance but couldn't put my finger on why it didn't work in this film even though he's such an exceptional actor. What I also love about Frances McDormand is that she so easily blends into the landscape. You could easily mistake her for any of the real life nomads of the film her performance was that bracing and convincing.
