Thank you, Andrea, for your insightful, thoughtful comment. You are right. There was something so raw and honest about the show (I loved the fact that they weren’t professional actors, which made me respect their work even more) that has rarely been replicated in American television. I have to check out the character you mentioned in the 90210 reboot. I liked the show, but it in no way had a profound impact on me like Degrassi.
