Seriously, Why is This Platform Becoming Garbage?

I can put up with the scam artists, faux experts, self-serving self-helpers, and predators posing as house pets. I can put up with the concern-trollers who pretend they’re my psychiatrist, GP, etc. The bros who continue to leave comments on articles I wrote two years ago, desperate to teach me about marketing when their sum total of experience is listening to the Tim Ferris podcast. By all means, continue to educate me on a career that I continue to be successful at. Please educate me on what a brand is when you can’t even get a simple definition right.

I can put up with the tsunami of articles under the “writing” tag that boil down to tutorials on shaking the coins out of members’ pockets instead of…I don’t know…getting better at one’s craft. I can put up with the fact that the Medium app appears to be headlining the UX Regression Tour 2021. By the by, why is it that a list functionality exists (and no, I do not want to test any functionality because the last time I did that and submitted lengthy recommendations, the majority were ignored), yet I still can’t use the search tool in any meaningful way? Why can’t I see what my favorite writers are reading — are their reads, claps, and comments in witness protection? Why is it that I can only block and mute…
