Oh, Sarah. That's a good one (Norman Maclean).
I do recommend Didion's novels. I loved Run River & A Book of Common Prayer, though Play It As It Lays is the the favorite. I think she's often more honest and vulnerable in her fiction than non-fiction.
It was a joy studying with Nathan Englander. I was a pissed-off arrogant shit at the time and didn't appreciate what he did as much as a I do now.
