I'm so sorry to read the algorithm hasn't boded well for you. It can be frustrating especially if you've made the time and effort to build credibility and a body of work on the platform.

Though, for clarity's sake, I haven't left Medium permanently. I'll publish commissioned work (i.e., if the in-house pubs ask/accept pitches) and maybe I'll return in the future. My reasoning has less to do with the algorithm changes (I don't look at my stats) and more to do with rampant plagiarism and misogyny, which was really getting to me. The derivative writing was getting to me too, but it was something I was willing to bear because being on the platform helped with new client leads and referrals.

I do hope there's more equity on the platform because all voices should be valued and heard.
