Carrie! Yes!! It drives me bananas. I was just on the phone with a good friend who runs her own PR shop and she’s finding the same thing is infecting her industry where people who work for two seconds at a company or are social influencers can understand the nuances of PR and media relations.

I never want to smother someone’s hustle, but there’s a difference between doing something for yourself (which hinges on so many aspects including luck and privilege) versus deploying strategies and tactics — driven by a discipline — for a fair number of clients.

You are preaching to the choir, friend. I’m in solidarity.
